Robert Pretto has been in practice since his graduation in 1986 from the University of Wisconsin Law School and throughout that time has focused on personal injury, worker’s compensation and insurance coverage issues. Mr. Pretto clerked during law school for the Madison based personal injury firm of Johnson, Swingen & Atterbury and joined the firm upon graduation as an associate. Mr. Pretto joined Gergen, Gergen & Pretto in 1992 and continued his focus on personal injury practice and civil litigation. To better serve his clients, Mr. Pretto maintains an office and sees clients in Madison as well as Beaver Dam.
“I have been a trial lawyer focusing on personal injury and worker’s compensation cases since the day I left law school back in 1986. Although it is the goal to successfully resolve claims through settlement and mediation, some cases cannot be resolved so easily and litigation is necessary. Clients who find themselves in litigation need a strong and experienced hand to go to court with confidence in the process and the outcome. Although the bulk of my practice centers around motor vehicle accidents, I have successfully handled accident cases of many types involving boats, dog bites/attacks, slip, trip and fall cases, agricultural equipment, shootings, defective products and catastrophic construction failures. Too many of these cases have involved fatalities and permanent injury and we strive to achieve justice while maintaining dignity and privacy for our clients.
As for the worker’s compensation arena, our goal is to ensure that clients are provided all the benefits to which they are entitled without alienating the employer. Like the healing of the injury, the worker’s compensation process can be painful and it always takes longer than you think. Patience, perseverance and professionalism are what we will provide.” -Robert Pretto
